There's nothing on the Aegean website to make us believe the following doesn't apply, although we've contacted them to be sure and will update when they get back to us.

Excess Baggage Charges

For domestic flights, excess baggage charges are calculated by weight and charged at € 2 for each excess kg. For international flights, excess baggage is charged with 1.5% of the IATA published fare. For more information please contact our Customer Service Department at 801 11 20000 within Greece, at a local rate or at +30 210 6261000 if you are calling from a mobile or from abroad.

Update
They did finally get back to us with the following slightly better news:

International routes
1..surfboards: between 15-30 kgs and/or 1,41-2 m. € 40 per piece. If bigger than 2 m, will be treated as 2 below.
2..windsurf eqpmt: over 30 kgs and or 2m. € 80 per piece, max weight 50 kgs, otherwise must go cargo.
3..kitesurf eqpmt: as the surfboard.

Domestic routes
May be included in the free baggage allowance of 15kgs per passenger.if exceed, will be charged with the xbag charge for domestic, eur 2 per extra kgs.

If a passenger starts the trip from international destinations ending to a domestic one, via ATH, the international rates will apply…

If you have flown with, or know a good tip specific to this airline, please let everyone know by rating it and leaving a report here. Some airlines don't apply (or even know) their own kit policies so it's useful to see other people's experiences flying with them …
