There is no specific policy for kitesurfing gear, but since the policy for surfing and windsurf gear is identical, a kitesurfer will almost always be charged likewise.

Windsurfers may not be included in the free baggage allowance. A special charge equal to 10KG of the applicable excess baggage rate applies per board. (Note that these rates can change depending on destination, but it's 19GB per kilo on a London to Cape Town flight (via Windhoek), so works out at £190).
