Business 30kg (66 lbs)
Star Alliance Gold Customers (including Airpoints Gold and Gold Elite) an additional 20kg (44 lbs)
Infants are entitled to the same baggage allowance as the accompanying passenger, including car seats and strollers, but they are not entitled to any additional allowances linked to the accompanying passengers frequent flyer tier status.

Flights to/from the USA, Canada or Tahiti
Flights between New Zealand and London via Los Angeles :

Economy and Premium Economy 2 pieces, each up to 23kg (50 lbs)
Business 2 pieces, each up to 32kg (70 lbs)
Star Alliance Gold Customers
(including Airpoints Gold and
Gold Elite) 1 additional piece per person
Under this piece system, each piece of baggage should have total dimensions (length + width + height) no greater than 158cm (62").

Infants are entitled to the same baggage allowance as the accompanying passenger, including car seats and strollers, but they are not entitled to any additional allowances linked to the accompanying passengers frequent flyer tier status.

Only one item/piece of sporting equipment per person qualifies for the free baggage allowance and the allowance may not be pooled. Excess baggage charges apply once the free allowance has been exceeded.

Flights to/from the USA, Canada or Tahiti, Flights between New Zealand and London via Los Angeles:
Items of sporting equipment - for example golf clubs, skis, snowboards, bicycles and surfboards - are included as part of the standard piece allowance. Excess baggage charges apply once the standard piece allowance has been exceeded. [This does apply to kitesurf equipment]
Please note there is a maximum weight restriction of 32kg (70 lbs) per item.
