One kiteboard without accessories up to 140 cm and up to 30 kg will be transported at no charge per person. This is only valid on LTU-operated services; an advance request is necessary for groups of 10+ passengers.
One windsurfing board from 1,41 m, 1 rig, 2 sails, 1 wetsuit, 30 kg max. 50 EUR for a return flight (30 EUR for a one way flight). [Kitesurf boards with 'accessories' are also likely to get charged at this rate, so don't pack all your t-shirts with your kite gear.]
"Please note that baggage items classed as sport luggage should only contain items required for only one particular type of sport (shown list). We request your understanding for the fact that we retain the rights to make random checks. Should false declared sport luggage exceed the free luggage limit the current rates for excess baggage will be applied accordingly."
The advice is also to book it on three days in advance.
Note: Holders of LTU CARDs, LTU MasterCards, LTU 3ER CARDs, LTU 6ER CARDs, LTU JAHRESCARDs and passengers travelling in Business Class are entitled to free transportation of one bulky sports equipment.

If you have flown with, or know a good tip specific to this airline, please
let everyone know by rating it and leaving a report here. Some airlines
don't apply (or even know) their own kit policies so it's useful to see
other people's experiences flying with them …
