Most destinations offer an allowance of 20kgs per person (not including Infants). For exact allowances please contact your Tour Operator or Travel Agent. If you have booked with XL.com please call them on 0870 169 0169. Whilst you can join your allowance together for the entire party, your per person allowance must not exceed 20kgs and you must make sure that no individual bag weighs over 32kgs for health and safety reasons. If it does you may be asked to repack at the airport.
If you are travelling in the economy class to any of the Caribbean islands the luggage allowance is 20 kilos and in the XLONE business class the luggage allowance is 40 kilos
Excess Baggage will be charged at £5.00 per kg Short Haul and £8.00 per kg Long Haul and will be subject to load on the day of travel, this will be payable in local currency at a resort airport.

Usually no problem taking sports equipment but try to book them on in advance. The website says this:
