Jem Hall

Jem is a former member of the Boards Magazine test team and now writes a regular column about wavesailing technique. He also has his own windsurfing movie - 'Beginner to Winner' which covers all aspects of windsurfing technique and comes highly recommended.

He's an experienced and extremely dedicated coach, with a style that's all his own and a rapidly growing following who find his techniques incredibly effective. If you need a short sharp shock to get you out of your comfort zone then Jem's your man.

In Spring '10 Jem is running a one-week coaching clinic in El Tur, Egypt. If you wish to enhance your stance, starts, gybes, transitions, freestyle, wavesailing and all-round sailing skills at this great venue then please book early.

Jim Collis

Jim is the ex-Test Editor and Technique Editor for Windsurf Magazine as well as being a massively experienced windsurf coach having learnt his trade in Vassiliki. He has recently been instrumental in the production, writing and rolling out of the new adult windsurfing schemes, 'Start Windsurfing', 'Intermediate Windsurfing' and 'Advanced Windsurfing’, and in the new freestyle scheme for the RYA's junior racing initiative, "team15". In short, this guy knows his stuff.

Jim's style reflects his character. He's super laid back and relaxed, but he gets the results by focussing on simple to understand key points that really make a difference.

Jim's clinics in El Tur are aimed at intermediate to advanced sailors keen to improve every aspect of freestyling, jumping and riding.

Ant / Nik Baker

Ant Baker has been coaching and a professional in windsports for over 15 years and now concentrates 100% to the development of beginner to expert Kitesurfers and windsurfers. With over 12 years of experience at the highest level and Ant holds a wealth of knowledge in the development process there is no-one more qualified to help with your progression!

Nik Baker has set his name in the history books in the UK with being the nation’s most successful windsurfer both on island and internationally and now with 25 years of experience Nik adds his name to the Baker Windsurf Academy list of coaches. Nik spent the last 10 years in the top 10 in the world waves, so waves is where we use his skills!

Why go on a clinic?

Clinics are becoming increasing popular in windsurfing as coaches and coaching techniques improve. They're incredibly effective at fast tracking windsurfers of all levels and they're also great fun. People come away having made great leaps forward and enthusing about the general benefit of having been totally immersed in such a positive environment.

Who should go on a clinic?

Anyone and everyone can benefit from the sophisticated and proven benefits of professional coaching as offered on a clinic.

However please note that some clinics have a minimum standard - for example looping clinics require you to be at least blasting in the straps and preferably jumping.

What should I expect?

To be part of a small group all dedicated and committed to improving their windsurfing with the aid of a professional and highly skilled coach. You'll attend comprehensive sessions on the simulator; go onto the water with specific instructions for what to practice and debreif your performance in enjoyable and revealing video coaching sessions. You'll make new friends and you'll improve your windsurfing by learning how to learn.
