Weather Notes
We find Windfinder to be the most reliable forecast site for El Tur but it’s important to realise that all the internet weather sites under-read. The local mountains here have an accelerating affect which no site currently picks up on. You can generally double the windspeeds given here and most times you won’t be far wrong.
The direction of the wind is very important to the strength. Anything from North through to West is the most common and almost always means goats blown off chains (windy). Anything else probably equals hammock time.
The blue-green bars here show the windspeed in knots – the lighter the blue, or the more green, the windier it’s going to be. There’s a six day forecast given here and the next couple of days are usually pretty accurate. But don’t bank on anything over a couple of days away.
Other weather sites:
Windguru
Again, you should almost double the wind speed as indicated on Windguru to match the local wind speed. |

Weather Update (July 16, 2008)
So far this week we have experienced a variety of conditions. From a wicked 5.2m day at Habibi beach jumping some steep ramps, to free ride blasting and gybing on our powerful 6.5m Ezzy's and speedy Z-Rides. As well as freestyle, SUPing and a snorkelling trip to the beautiful Ras Mohammed National Park. And the odd light wind evening has seen some entertaining games of beach volleyball, which the OS Team could do with some coaching tips on!
Definitely warm enough for boardies and rashies at all locations now and apparently the air-con comes in handy at night!
