Accommodation

		Hotel Orkos The Hotel Orkos Beach is situated in the bay of Mikri Vigla app. 150 – 200m from the beach – app. 18km south of Naxos town. The hotel has 47 studios, rooms and apartments (app. 20-25m2) which all have big and nice terraces, most of them with sea view. The studios are equipped with kitchenette, air condition and TV. An extensive breakfast buffet is offered from 8:00 – 11:00am. To take a snack during the day the Flisvos Kite Café has a tasty range of salads, toasts, sandwiches, fruit juices, cocktails and milk shakes. In the evening the Kite Café is open as bar and meeting point to all Kiters
		Naxos Beach 1 As an alternative or in combination the well known Hotel Naxos Beach 1, part of the Flisvos Sportclub, at the St. Georges Beach can be booked. All kiters which have pre booked Kite courses or rental equipment and are staying at the Hotel Naxos Beach 1 receive a free Mountain bike for the transfer to Mikri Vigla.

The Centre

Our kite centre in Migri Vigla was opened in 2006 (situated approx. 18km south of Naxos town). The reception of the kite centre, the Flisvos Kite Café, with its marvellous view over the spot and a small shop with beach wear, water wear and Kite hard wear are located in the northern building of the Hotel Orkos Beach. (Distance to the water app. 150m).

Luciana and Michele (English/French and Italian speaking) are our centre as well as giving courses or renting equipment according to IKO standards. School- and rental equipment is from Best kite boarding and RRD; app. 35 kites and 15 boards are available.

IMPORTANT NOTE
To rent equipment an IKO Level 3 license is necessary or for Kiter without this license an evaluation test with one of our IKO instructors for 30,- Euro.

Travel information

Naxos is an ideal summer holiday destination suitable for a 7-14 day visit. The island can only be reached by connecting via Athens with a domestic flight operated by Olympic Airways or via ferry from Athens direct to Naxos. Oceansource can organise the entire transfer process other than domestic flights which should be booked direct with Olympic.

Getting to Naxos

Naxos cannot be reached direct via charter flights. The 2 main options for getting to Naxos are as follows:

1. Transfer via Athens
2. Transfer via Santorini or Mykonos

TRANSFER VIA ATHENS
If you have booked with Olympic, then please allow up to an hour for transfers between airlines. All airlines now share the same terminal building so its very easy to connect.

If you have decided to take the ferry, then you have the following choices:

1. take the X96 bus just parked outside of the terminal building (up to 90 mins)
2. take a taxi (20-30 mins)
3. private transfers (20-30 mins)

Private Transfers
We can organise VIP transfers with private cars and pre-arranged ferry tickets from £70 pp (slow ferry) and £95 (high speed ferry).

This option can be booked in advance – if nevertheless the transfer takes place with Blue Star ferries for any reason, the surcharge will be refunded. The flights have to land in Athens before 14.15 to reach the ferry on time (departure usually around 16:30).
